It has been reported to the MDAT-GoG that a Cyprus-flagged offshore supply vessel has been attacked whilst underway, 83nm West-northwest of Bata, Equatorial Guinea. The Company Security Officer states that six pirates boarded the vessel from a small craft. The crew retreated to the citadel and are all accounted for and reported safe. The crew informed the Company Security Officer that they believe the pirates are still onboard the vessel. UPDATE: Further information has been received confirming that the incident is now over and the vessel is heading to Cameroon waters for assistance. The report states that the armed Pirates began looting the vessel, then headed inside to look for the crew and attempted to open the citadel but were unsuccessful. The pirates disembarked at approximately 02:00 UTC. The crew have confirmed that some of the navigation equipment has been damaged.
