| It has been reported that a Liberia-flagged container vessel was approached whilst underway, approximately 50nm Southwest of Bata, Equatorial Guinea. One small craft approached and followed to within 0.75nm. The Master reported hearing gunshot like sounds whilst the craft was following the container vessel, but no firearms were spotted due to darkness and no visible damage has been sustained to the vessel. The vessel increased to maximum speed and the small craft stopped it's pursuit. The vessel and crew are reported safe and are proceeding to the next port of call. | |||||
