It has been reported that a robbery occurred on a Panama-flagged bulk carrier whilst underway in the Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait. Duty crew spotted eight perpetrators, four of which were reportedly armed with knives, in the engine room which resulted in the robbers making their escape with stolen engine spares. The Master reported that one crew member was tied up with rope and a harness.
