It has been reported that an attempted robbery occurred on a Hong Kong-flagged cargo vessel whilst underway in the Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait. Up to eight perpetrators, one of whom was armed, were spotted in the engine room before making their escape. Nothing has been reported stolen, the crew are reported safe, and the vessel continued its voyage to Singapore. UPDATE: Further information has been received confirming that further investigation revealed engine spares and other unsecured items had been stolen.
