It has been reported that there has been an attempted robbery onboard a Kuwaiti flagged tanker while transiting through Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait. The crew saw six perpetrators armed with knives in the engine room. The alarm was raised, crew mustered and an onboard search revealed nothing had been stolen. All crew were reported safe. UPDATE: The IMB have received further information stating that the Coast Guard boarded the tanker to investigate which confirmed that engine spares and crew personal belongings had been stolen.
