It has been reported that there has been a robbery onboard a Singaporean-flagged tanker whilst anchored at Belawan anchorage, Indonesia. A member of crew observed a small boat near the anchor chain of the tanker. He attempted to chase off the craft but was unsuccessful. Upon turning around, he encountered a perpetrator armed with a machete. After reporting the ongoing incident to the bridge, the duty officer ordered him to retreat. The alarm was then raised, and crew mustered. The vessel was searched and the padlock on the forecastle was found broken and various items of ships properties had been stolen.
