Open-sources have reported that a Palau-flagged general cargo vessel was struck in the evening of the 7th of October 2024 (exact time not specified), by a missile whilst alongside at Odesa, Ukraine. The attack on the vessel resulted in a port worker being killed and five crew members injured. Reports state that Russian forces were targeting Odesa port infrastructure in the attack, it has not been confirmed that the cargo vessel which had arrived that day, was specifically targeted. Russian authorities have not commented on the incident.
