Open-sources have reported that a general cargo vessel was struck overnight between 5th and 6th October 2024 (exact time not specified), by a missile whilst alongside at Yuzhne port, Ukraine. Footage was shared with the reports of hazy infra-red imagery from an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle showing the blast. Reports state that a Russian Iskander-M missile struck the vessel after Russian sources claimed the vessel had been transporting arms and ammunition to Ukraine from Europe. The regional head of Odessa region, confirmed the incident and also reported that no crew members onboard the vessel had been injured.
