It has been reported by the UKMTO that there has been an attack on a Liberian-flagged container ship approximately 170nm East of Aden, Yemen. The authorities are currently investigating. UPDATE 1: The Captain informed the UKMTO that the armed security team had observed a small explosion in close proximity to the vessel. No damage has been reported and all crew have been reported as safe. The vessel is proceeding to her next port of call. UPDATE 2: Further information has been received regarding another attack on the vessel. Initial reports indicate that there has been an explosion onboard and the vessel has sustained minor damage. The crew have been reported as safe. UPDATE 3: The UKMTO have been informed by the Company Security Officer that the container vessel was hit by a missile. After reviewing the strike, no water ingress, oil leaks or fires have been observed. The vessel is proceeding to its next port of call.
