It has been reported by the UKMTO that a vessel has been attacked approximately 70m Southwest of Hodeidah, Yemen (exact position not specified). The authorities are investigating. UPDATE 1: Clearwater have received further information that a number of armed persons onboard three blue and white coloured boats approached a Panama-flagged tanker. There was an exchange of fire between the perpetrators onboard the three boats and the armed security team onboard the tanker, which resulted in the three boats leaving the area. A larger vessel with three other boats was also spotted nearby. The vessel and crew are reported as safe. UPDATE 2: The UKMTO have reported that the third small boat was unmanned and collided with the tanker twice before the attack was aborted. UPDATE 3: Further information has been received from the UKMTO stating that at 0801 UTC the Master reported sighting a missile exploding near the vessel. Following this, at 0845 the tanker was targeted by two missiles, also exploding close to the vessel. No damage has been reported, the crew are safe, and the tanker is proceeding to her next port of call. UPDATE 4: The Master of the vessel has reported that at 1530 UTC a projectile had exploded close to the vessel. No damage has been reported, the crew are safe, and the vessel is proceeding to her next port of call.
