Open source reports state that between the hours of 03:50 and 06:50 UTC US forces including the USS Carney engaged six Houthi Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in the Southern Red Sea (Exact position not specified). Five were reported to have crashed into the Red Sea and one flew inland towards Houthi controlled areas of Yemen. The Unmanned Aerial Vehicles were declared an imminent threat to US, coalition and merchant vessels and the actions were taken in order to protect freedom of navigation and to make international waters safer and more secure for US, coalition and merchant vessels. |
