Open-source reports state that between 1200 and 1700 UTC, the USS Laboon was patrolling the Southern Red Sea (exact location not specified) as part of Operation Prosperity Guardian and shot down four Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV's). The report states that the UAV's had originated from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen and were heading towards the USS Laboon. No damage or injuries were reported. The USS Laboon then responded to distress calls from a Norwegian-flagged tanker that had reported a near miss from a UAV and a Indian-flagged tanker that reported that a UAV had detonated close to the tanker, but no injuries had been reported. It is also mentioned in the reports that two anti-ship ballistic missiles were fired from Houthi territory into the Southern Red Sea but no vessels reported being impacted by the missiles. |
