| The IMB have reported that a bulk carrier has been boarded whilst anchored at Owendo inner anchorage, Gabon. The Chief Officer has confirmed that three crew members have been kidnapped. The remaining crew members and the vessel are reported safe, the local authorities have been notified. UPDATE 1: Further information has been received stating that the Engineer was alerted to the incident after hearing a noise. When the Captain could not be located, the crew mustered, and it was confirmed that the second mate and third mate were also missing. A search of the vessel revealed the Captain's safety box was open and its contents missing. A Gabon Naval patrol vessel was dispatched and arrived at the location at 05:10 LT. UPDATE 2: It has been reported that the three kidnapped crew members have been released. | |||||
