The MDAT-GOG are aware of an increased threat due to a piracy action group in the area bounded by the following coordinates, until 1st April 2023 at 2030 UTC. 02°30.00N 005°00.00E 02°30.00N 007°30.00E 05°00.00N 007°30.00E 05°00.00N 005°00.00E We strongly recommend that the seafaring community (all Shipping) transiting this area increase their vigilance and retain an enhanced local surveillance and apply BMP WA procedures. This information is provided to inform maritime situational awareness for mariners operating in the region.
