It has been reported that six robbers armed with knives managed to board a Panama flagged bulk carrier whilst under way in the Philip Channel, Singapore Strait. The robbers were discovered by the third Engineer and a technician in the steering gear compartment. The third Engineer attempted to chase the robbers by throwing tools at them resulting in the robbers throwing some of the tools back, causing a minor injury to the third Engineer. The Master reported that the robbers had left the vessel and added to his report that some scrap metal had been stolen. The vessel did not require any assistance and continued her passage to Singapore. |
