Exact coordinates not specified. It has been reported that a robbery occurred on an unmanned oil platform approximately 43nm Northwest of Tanjung Kidurong, Malaysia. A Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency vessel, KM Arau, spotted an unregistered fishing vessel with seven persons onboard moving suspiciously away from the oil platform. The KM Arau pursued the fishing vessel and was able to intercept the suspicious craft almost two hours later, where it was boarded and searched. The search discovered items onboard including cable ropes, satellite phones and radios that had been stolen from the unmanned platform. The seven suspects were arrested and taken to the Bintulu Maritime Zone Vessel Detention Center Jetty for further investigation. |
