The MDAT-GoG has released a notice that they believe there is an increased threat of piracy for the next 48 hours in the area defined by the following points: 05°00.00N 005°00.00W 05°00.00N 002°30.00W 02°30.00N 002°30.00W 02°30.00N 005°00.00W UPDATE: The MDAT-GOG has cancelled the above notice, as they have been made aware that the piracy threat has moved towards the area defined by the following points which is valid until 23:59 UTC on 18th January 2022: 05°00.00N 002°30.00W 05°00.00N 000°00.00W 02°30.00N 000°00.00W 02°30.00N 002°30.00W They have also added that they strongly recommend that the seafaring community and ships transiting this area increase their vigilance and retain enhanced local surveillance and apply BMP WA procedures. |
